Cristiana Alexis
Growing up in a family of 10, my head was always in the clouds. “You’re always going against the grain!” my father would constantly remind me. To my siblings it was no surprise that I was to be the first to leave home at 18 to go into the Marine Corps. Being a leader who is Black and Mexican, wearing the “Alvarez” last name, was the proudest I have ever been of myself, and I became a martial arts instructor for the Corps. I’m graduating from MFA Acting program at Academy of Art University after completing my BFA in Acting here. I’m a 5-time NXTUpfest nominee for Best Actress, and am also
trained as an on-camera host and filmmaker. I also paint, and have studies Fine Art in Italy. My other loves are anime, meditating, learning languages, reading philosophy, and running. And of course, practicing martial arts.
